Day 8, Part 1: (Grand CaƱyoneeee!)
We drove to the Grand Canyon after a rather uneventful stay in Flagstaff. Flagstaff was nice, we went and saw the new Terminator movie (ooer, nice effects and loose illogical story), and then went to bed. No biggie, really. The Grand Canyon is exactly EVERYTHING that it is cracked up to be. If you’ve never been, you need to go. Every five minutes Kayla and I would exude another muted “WOW”. The Canyon is this enormous testament to the weathering of time… it’s simply incredible. A lot of scenes reminded me of a movie I saw a really long time ago called “The Time Machine”. It had. That was it. There were canyons in that movie, and it well illustrated the effect of time on land, so you should watch it and you might get the idea I was talking about. Seeing a 2000ft drop directly beneath you has a profound effect on your body. You get dizzy, scared, and your heart starts pumping a mile a minute. Incredible. It was.. so immense. (Kudos to Kayla for the above shot.)
